One of the early blooming trees is the Magnolia. Most of the magnolias grown in our region are deciduous as opposed to the evergreen Southern Magnolia, Magnolia grandiflora.
These deciduous trees do not get as big, but as they flower before the leaves push out, they are much showier than their southern cousin.
They tolerate a fair amount of moisture and are hardy to are region. Magnolias are a great way to celebrate spring!
